South Korea has defeated China in the 2018 Overwatch World Cup finals.
Both teams rolled through their quarterfinals matches with relative ease – China and South Korea sweeping Finland and Australia respectively.
The quarterfinals proved to be slightly more difficult for Korea, who drew two of their for matches with United Kingdom, but China swept Canada who were considered one of the strongest teams in the tournament.
There were some doubts that South Korea would be able to contain China’s unique playing style and silence the rising star Guxue, especially with their lack of proper scrimmaging time. However, they proved to be the same South Korea they always were, beating China 4-0.
As for the 3rd place match, Canada was able to pull out a narrow victory against the United Kingdom in a five-map series. Both teams were neck and neck, and though UK got their choice of the final map they were unable to capitalize.
