It was rumored that Striker indeed was on the block, but San Francisco is an odd place for him to end up. They already have a Tracer specialist in Sinatraa and boast four top of the line DPS players. Last season their heavy DPS roster lineup led to some players having to flex onto other roles (Nevix) or just not playing at all (iddqd). However, that was before Crusty came in.
Crusty was a part of Boston in their miraculous stage 3 run, and it was under him where Boston played best. Throughout the entire season Boston only had one constant as Dreamkazper faced off the field issues and Gamsu's play fell off at the end of the season - and that player was Striker. His play kept Boston alive and thriving, much like Carpe's did to Philadelphia, putting him into the MVP race.
With this in mind, there is a large chance that Striker's playtime will primarily cut into Sinatraa's. Sinatraa was known for his Tracer, which failed to live up to the hype come his entrance into the Overwatch League. However, Sinatraa should still be able to find himself in other roles such as Zarya.
As for Boston it is unclear of what direction the franchise is headed. Over the course of the offseason, though they have added some talented players they have also pruned a lot leaving their roster looking overall weaker than before. They currently only have eight players, which leads me to question whether they will be able to cover every hero when looking at everyone's pools.
It will be interesting to see how Striker is integrated into Shock's lineup, as this trade was a clear win for them. As for Boston, what is going on over there?
